Okay, obviously I wasn’t actually their therapist. 😉😂 But somewhere along the way, I realized real estate was rarely just about the house. People move because life happens. Marriage, babies, divorce, empty nests, aging parents, loss, new beginnings… I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people through so many of those chapters. And I’ve always been that person people somehow end up telling their whole life story to. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ So when I felt God calling me to help people on a deeper level, I trusted Him and went back to grad school in my late 40s to become a clinical mental health counselor. At first, these seemed like two completely different paths. But considering I’ve joked about being the “unofficial therapist” for years 😂…maybe the connection was there all along. One helps people move homes. The other helps people move through life. As we plan for the week & silent September challenge ahead for those joining me, let’s remember that God is ultimately the One leading the way. 🤍 I say “Lo que Dios quiera” so often that my middle daughter actually had it tattooed. 😂 It doesn’t mean we don’t make plans. We plan, prepare, and do our part, while trusting God to establish our steps. This feels like the perfect verse to carry us into #SilentSeptember in two days. Since I’ll be stepping away from social media, this will be my last Sunday Scripture for a few weeks. Praying God blesses this challenge, meets us in the quiet, and leads us closer to Him. Who wants to join me for a #SilentSeptember challenge? 🤫 For a while now, I’ve felt God nudging me to step away from some of the noise. Less social media, scrolling, and maybe even fewer podcasts. More silence, stillness, and time with Jesus. Sometimes we fill our minds with so many voices that it becomes harder to recognize His. This September, I want to make more room for daily devotionals, prayer, reading, sitting with Scripture, connecting with people intentionally, and simply becoming more comfortable with quiet. Honestly, I know it may be hard because I love connecting with people here, so I’d love some company on this journey! Who wants to join me for #SilentSeptember? 🤫 For a while now, I’ve felt God gently nudging me to step away from some of the noise and make more room for Him. Our world can be so noisy, right? There are constantly voices, opinions, and distractions competing for our attention. Before we realize it, all that noise can make it harder to recognize the voice that matters most: God’s. His voice is steady, loving, and true. We can trust it. It leads us back to the peace, joy, love, and hope our hearts are truly searching for. So, for September, the goal is to: • Remove social media and other distracting apps • Read the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John • Pray, go for walks, and embrace God’s beautiful creation • Connect with our sisters in Christ, friends, and family • Go to church every week • Encourage one another through a private group chat There won’t be a rigid daily reading plan, and this isn’t about doing everything perfectly. It’s simply an invitation to spend less time scrolling and more time in prayer, Scripture, God’s presence, and meaningful connection. If you miss a day, just come back.
